ProductPossible conserved exported or membrane protein
CommentsRv0901, (MTCY31.29), len: 175 aa. Possible conserved exported or membrane protein, with hydrophobic N-terminus at aa 7-25. Shows some similarity in C-terminus to O33070|Z99494|MLCB57.59 hypothetical protein from Mycobacterium leprae (113 aa), FASTA scores: opt: 204, E(): 3.2e-12, (44.9% identity in 78 aa overlap).
Functional categoryCell wall and cell processes
ProteomicsIdentified in the membrane fraction of M. tuberculosis H37Rv using 1D-SDS-PAGE and uLC-MS/MS; predicted transmembrane protein (See Gu et al., 2003). Identified by mass spectrometry in Triton X-114 extracts of M. tuberculosis H37Rv (See Malen et al., 2010). Identified by mass spectrometry in the membrane protein fraction and whole cell lysates of M. tuberculosis H37Rv but not the culture filtrate (See de Souza et al., 2011).
MutantNon-essential gene for in vitro growth of H37Rv in a MtbYM rich medium, by Himar1 transposon mutagenesis (see Minato et al. 2019). Non-essential gene for in vitro growth of H37Rv, by analysis of saturated Himar1 transposon libraries (see DeJesus et al. 2017). Non essential gene by Himar1 transposon mutagenesis in H37Rv strain (see Sassetti et al., 2003). Infection of THP-1 macrophages with M. smegmatis mc2155 expressing M. tuberculosis H37Rv Rv0901 has reduced survival, increased NO, and increased apoptosis (See Zhang et al., 2009).
